4th National Research Conference on Child and Family Programs and Policies

Our 4th conference brought together over 80 people from all over the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as conference attendees and presenters from Canada, Mexico, and Switzerland.

We offered two pre-conference workshops:
(1) From Research to Policy: Strategies for Having Research Findings Make a Difference
Offered by Dr. Joan Zlotnik, Social Work Policy Institute, NASW Foundation

(2) Introduction to Structural Equation Modeling
Offered by Dr. Denise Hines, Clark University

We also had two nationally regonized keynote speakers:

(1) Research on Spanking By Parents: Implications for Public Policy

Murray A. Straus, University of New Hampshire

(2) Programs and Policies to Strengthen Marriage and Reduce Divorce: Goals, Controversies, and Evidence

Paul R. Amato, Penn State University

Winner of the 1st Student Competition:

Andrea Gromoske was a dissertator in her third year of the social work doctoral program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
